By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main text: Daniel 3 Key texts: Romans 12:2, Matthew 5:16, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Psalms 89:13-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Deuteronomy 31:6 ---------- The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego showed us the miracle of God amidst the fiery furnace of this world. There are two kinds of fire we would encounter: fire from this world and the fire from our God. The three young men surely chose to be covered by the fire from our God. They were spared from danger and even became a beacon of light to the people around them. The story would have turned out differently had they chosen the fire of this world. This message makes a distinction between these two types of fire that we would encounter and helps us to choose the fire we want to envelop us. ---------- FIRE OF THIS WORLD 1. Conforming fire (Daniel 3:1-7) The fire of this world would always try to conform us to its nature: sinful and deceiving. In the experience of our three lads, a decree was set to worship an image by king Nebuchadnezzar with the sound of various instruments as its cue. Anyone who defies this decree faces death. While we may not face a similar dire consequence, we encounter the deceitfulness of this world in the forms of peer pressure, fear of missed opportunities or rejections that cower us to stand firm on our faith. Whether we like to admit it or not, at least once we fell into the world's trap and complied with something that clearly we should not. This is an everyday challenge that the Lord knows we struggle with. He does not expect us to perfect nonconformity. But the Lord is giving us the power to be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). The Lord knows we cannot win all battles but He expects us to be renewed every time we fall from the conforming fire. 2. Betraying fire (Daniel 3:8-12) If we were able to overcome the conforming fire, the world would then challenge us with the betraying fire. This world thrives with conformity. Anything that is against it is accused as an anomaly. People are watching us and are waiting for us to make a mistake. Some of these people will even mock God and our faith. They are carefully watching us on how we would react and defend our faith. Let us remember that we are given salvation not just to enjoy it but to also be a beacon of hope to others. The betraying fire might scare us into giving in. However, the Lord expects us to serve as the light of this world as He clearly mentions in Matthew 5:16. By standing our ground, we can manifest God’s power and glorify His Name. ~ FIRE FROM GOD 1. Fire of Real Faith (1 Corinthians 15:58) God’s fire can ignite and strengthen our faith to withstand the world’s fire. The Lord wants us to be steadfast and unmoveable as Paul advised the Corinthian church. The apostle Paul also advises us to abound in the work of the Lord. This is important as it tells us that as we continue to focus on doing and producing for the work of the Lord, we can continue to defy the fire of the world. The Lord provides us assurance and rest (Psalms 89:13-15) amidst all this spiritual warfare. God knows that fighting the fire of the world can drain us. We can rest into His promise that He always has our backs. Persecution will always be a part of our battle but it definitely proves our faith. In the end, standing up for our faith will bring its rewards. Paul also emphasizes this for the Corinthian church and modern Christians that the Lord is always faithful. Our labor of love for Him is never going to be in vain. 2. Protective Fire (1 Corinthians 10:13) As our real faith emerges from the spiritual battle, the protective fire of God can give us the edge against the conforming and betraying fire of this world. The Lord already made sure that we can handle these fires. Before the battle even starts, the Lord already knows what we can handle. Everytime we get overwhelmed by the fire of the world, be encouraged by 1 Corinthians 10:13. God believes that we can handle whatever we are already facing. He knows our heart and how equipped we are to go through the conforming and betraying fire of the world. If that is not enough, the protective fire of God also gives us the promise that the Lord is with us always. Moses reminds us in Deuteronomy 31:6 that the Lord will never fail us nor forsake us. We might get overwhelmed by the challenge but we can always count that the Lord God we are serving is always bigger than any challenge. We can rest in Him and trust that He can and He will deliver us out of the difficult fire of this world. Everyday we are tested by the fire of this world. The Lord knows this and has given us all the tools we need to equip ourselves. As we face these daily battles, let us always be reminded that we are not alone in this spiritual warfare. The fire of God can envelop us, if we choose and pray for it. Like Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego, we can go through the fiery furnace of this world unscathed. As we go unscathed, we can manifest the power of our God and be a beacon that leads everyone around us to God’s free gift of salvation. /written by: Kevin Sanchez /published by: Em Gacad

By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: Ephesians 5:1-10 KJV [1] Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; [2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. [3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; [4] Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. [5] For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [6] Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. [7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them. [8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: [9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. ---------- Walking is something that we people do everyday. It is our means to move from one place to another. It describes an active motion of our bodies with minimal effort yet a consistent one. However, when we talk about a person's walk of life, it can be described as what and how they live their life. The Book of Ephesians uses "walk" in the sense of one's conduct or manner of living their life. Paul is writing the church in Ephesus how to live their lives as they pass through this world as pilgrims and strangers. Now, how do we walk like Paul described in Ephesians? 1. A walk that WORKS Although, we are not saved by our own works, God ordained that we must do good works (Ephesians 2:10). No amount of good works can produce salvation, but salvation will produce a limitless number of good works. God saved us to show and let the world know what He can do with sinners. He wanted to show that His love is all-encompassing and that His grace is greater than all our sin. He has prepared the works in which we are to do in this temporary life. 2. A walk that is WORTHY To walk worthy as being described in Ephesians 4:1 means being what we claim to believe. We are not hypocrites that believing on something and yet living the oppposite. We balance our talk with our walk. 3. A walk that is WHOLEHEARTED In Ephesians 4:17, Paul emphasizes that we believers ought to be different. We have been saved and therefore should no longer live like the world. We are new creatures in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Wholehearted is defined as complete sincerity and commitment. Living differently from those around you is hard, but with a wholehearted commitment, it is possible. 4. A walk that is WONDERFUL As we walk this earth as a Christian - one who claims to follow God, we must also follow the kind of love that God has. It is commonly known as "agape", or the unconditional love that is based on a conscious choice. In other words, loving someone in spite of what they are, what they have done, or what you know about them (Ephesians 5:2). Loving this way is unnatural because it is the supernatural way of God. 5. A walk that WITNESS Ephesians 5:8 states that our whole nature has been changed. And as we are to live that change, we become living testimonies to the power of God. We are to live out the Light of God's Truth in every moment of life. 6. A walk that is WISE Lastly, we are to walk circumspectly just as Ephesians 5:15 says. We are encouraged to watch diligently for the snares of the devil each step we take and for the opportunities of the Lord. Living like fools means letting our guards down, not knowing that we have been snared or rather falling into the trap of the enemy. Or, we can live as wise men, making every minute count for the glory of the Lord. /written by: Jenzhel Sanchez /published by: Em Gacad Preached on April 12, 2023 — Midweek Service
by Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: James 2:14-26 KJV [14] What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? [15] If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, [16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? [17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? [21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? [22] Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? [23] And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. [25] Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? [26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. ---------- How can we say that our faith is true and genuine? Faith is what pleases God, it is what makes us closer to Him. Faith also involves unwavering trust, devotion, and reliance on God's love and promises in all aspects of life. However, how can we determine if the faith we possess is genuine? Or, even more importantly, does our faith really please God? What is TRUE FAITH that pleases God? 1. Real faith is not just something that we say. Matthew 7:21 KJV [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. It is easy to say “have faith” but Jesus clarifies that it is not enough to talk the talk, we must also walk the talk. The decisions we make and the actions we take should mirror our faith, as true faith is expected to have visible outcomes in our lives. When we sincerely believe, our prayers will find answers, and by obeying, we demonstrate our true faith. It is a challenge of faith when our desires differ from what Jesus offers. Do we still follow the path God directs us to, even when it opposes our desires? Faith is not just something that we say, it must become evident through the choices we make throughout our life. 2. Real faith is not just something that we feel. Matthew 18:15-16 KJV [15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 1 John 3:17 KJV [18] But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? Faith is not only an emotional feeling. We cannot base faith on what we feel in our special moments with God. It must also be evident in our treatment with our fellow brethren as possessing real faith is giving and being a conduit of blessings to others. We should uplift our brethren and speak of blessings into their lives. Having real faith is placing trust and showing compassion towards each other and mutually enabling God to work through us as a fulfillment of our brethren's prayers. 3. Real faith is not just something that we think. Thinking about Jesus Christ will not take us to heaven. Thinking about Christ does not mean we know Him—thinking and believing about Christ is not enough because even the devil knows and believes in Him. Possessing real faith is doing something, an action or act of obedience. It must be evident that we accepted Jesus Christ. While many are familiar with Jesus only a few truly embrace Him and possess the genuine faith to turn their lives around and follow His teachings. Jesus set an example for us yet many are still hesitant to follow His path due to the challenges of transformation. Thinking about Christ is never enough, we have to accept Him and obey His commandments. 4. Real faith is something that we do. Our faith is based on our actions. Today, this message shares 2 classification of faith: •Passive faith John 5:5 KJV [5] And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. John 5:8 KJV [8] Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Passive faith only acts on the encouragement of others, in John 5:8 God gives him condition. It takes practice to believe what we pray, sometimes we still wait for the confirmation of God before we fully believe. In passive faith God wants to see if we truly believe in our prayers. •Active faith Mark 5:26-29 KJV [26] And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, [27] When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. [28] For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. [29] And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Active faith is 100% truly and fully believing. This is faith, wholeheartedly trusting the Lord without relying on others or something else. We cannot be an active servant if our faith is lacking, it’s time we embody our belief that God does the impossible. Mark 5:34 KJV [34] And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Possessing an active faith is powerful, this is the kind of faith that we “DO”. Let's make it our daily practice and witness as God accomplishes the impossible in our lives. This kind of faith helps us overcome challenges and bring greater satisfaction to God. So, let's move forward confidently, knowing that when we act in faith, we can create amazing changes in our lives and the lives of those around us. Are you now confident that your faith is genuine and true? May this message inspire us and strengthen our faith as we achieve greater things for the advancement of God’s kingdom. When we have this active faith, we let God work in ways we can't fully grasp. Let’s end this with a prayer filled with active faith and wholeheartedly trusting. All glory be unto God. Amen. /written by: Jemaimah Alquizar /published by: Em Gacad Preached on June 14, 2020
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: 2 Samuel 17:23 KJV [23] And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father. ---------- A weed in the garden serves no other purpose than to take other plant's nutrients, to choke the life of them, and at the same time nurture themselves. Likewise, we have events in our lives that results in brooding anger and produces a bad spirit. One that is hostile towards others and some time to God. That anger takes our joy and peace and at the same time nurtures itself taking deeper roots in our hearts. If we allow it to grow unchecked, this "root of bitterness" will spring up into a plant that will cast a shadow over everything you are and do. In the main text, we have a character in the Bible, named Ahithopel, whose life we can learn from about bitterness. He allowed the root of bitterness to grow in his heart. Hopefully this will avoid the same fate he had, as we let God help us in our battle against the bitterness we all face from time to time. Let us be clear, no man is an exception. Just like Ahithopel, even a godly and serving Christian can be swallowed in the sin of bitterness. 2 Samuel 15:12 indicates that he was a saved man, a keeper of the Law, and a worshiper of the Lord. And in 2 Samuel 16:23, he had a reputation as a man who gave good and godly counsel - that the bible even states that words from him was like getting word directly from God's mouth. Ahithopel's bitterness came from the fact that he was Bathsheba's grandfather. All the time he was serving in David's court, he harbored grudges on David. He allowed his anger to burn to the point of intrigue and murder. He was planning to overthrow and kill David during Absalom's rebellion against his father. And when that didn't pan out, he took his own life instead of confronting David. There were two things that Ahithopel forgot: (1) God is Sovereign and that He is able to deal with the sins of His children. Vengeance is of the Lord and He doesn't let any sin go unpunished. (2) David has already paid for his sins (2 Samuel 12) and he would continue to pay for the murder of Uriah for the rest of his life, 2 Kings 12:9-10. One of God's character is chastiser. In Gods timing, He will reprimand and rebuke those who sin. Remedies to uproot bitterness: 1. Admit that your sins have taken a root of bitterness When we harbor resentment and fail to forgive those who hurt us, we are just equally guilty in the eyes of the Lord. 1 John 1:9 KJV [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The First Step is to acknowledge your own wrong before the Lord. - Humble yourself to Him and ask for forgiveness. - Ask for wisdom and a forgiving heart 2. Forgive them With humility and wisdom from God, confront those who have offended you. Matthew 18:15-17 KJV [15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. [17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. We must get things settled and remember that God knows how to take care of His Own Children 3. Forget the Past Never allow the hurts of yesterday to control your life today. Dragging that baggage only strangle your spiritual life. The following verses are for you: Matthew 11:28 KJV [28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV [9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. He will give you the grace to forgive and He will give you the grace to forget, if you will bring it to Him. 4. Forsake hatred and anger If we do not forsook bitterness in our hearts, it will only become a stronghold for the devil. It will be a breach in our lives where he can attack us easily. Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV [26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: [27] Neither give place to the devil. ---------- When we are afflicted with bitterness, bring it before the Lord and let Him dig it out of your life tonight. Honestly confess your hurt to the Lord, seek to forgive the offending party, and then God will give the grace needed to make that a reality in your life. You don’t need to let that root of bitterness live another minute. /written by: Jenzhel Sanchez /published by: Em Gacad Preached on October 1, 2017 - Sunday Morning Service
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main texts: Matthew 3:11 KJV [11] I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Acts 2:1-4 KJV [1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Key texts: Luke 22:55, 61-62, John 21:9, John 14:16-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalms 139:23-24 ---------- It is common for Christians to experience coldness or staleness in their service to the Lord. Due to many external factors, we may find ourselves discouraged and uninterested in advancing the work of the Lord. However, we are expected by God to be always prepared for this scenario and to take action immediately. This message aims to start a fire underneath the ice of our cold service to our God. To rely on your own fire would be the first mistake an iced cold Christian would make in this situation. There is never a guarantee that our own fire can even make a difference. What we need is the sure-fire divine blaze from God which has the power to bring any iced cold Christian back on track. Our main text centers on the disciples during the Pentecost. But in between the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Pentecost, the disciples’ faith were heavily challenged. They were iced cold in their ministries. But the Lord Jesus Christ’ resurrection and commission started a fire in the disciples and brought them back to their calling and ministry. How exactly did God’s fire affect the disciples? 1. Fire CONVICTS us. (Luke 22:55, 61-62) Peter famously denied the Lord Jesus Christ thrice during His trial. The fire mentioned in verse 55 perfectly pictures how God’s fire will show what is inside our heart. Peter was serving the Lord as His disciple. But God’s fire showed his weak faith and he was convicted of this truth when the cock crew and he remembered what the Lord Jesus Christ said many times before about his denial of the Lord. The first step is always to convict us. Almost all of the time, sin separates us from God and our service to Him. God’s fire shows us our weakness and where to improve. The Lord does not convict us to shame us but to lovingly give us a chance to start from here and change for the better. Eventually, Peter became a better apostle and evangelist even after this huge setback. If the Lord is convicting us right now, take it as a loving reminder from Him. 2. Fire COMFORTS us. (John 21:9, John 14:16-18) Peter and the other disciples went back to fishing after the death of the Lord Jesus Christ (see John 21). They went back to their old lives feeling defeated. During their fishing on the sea of Tiberias, the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to them to comfort them. The Lord said, “Come and dine.” along with the fire of coals with bread and fish prepared. When the disciples realized that they were in the midst of the Lord Jesus Christ’ presence, they were comforted by their fears. In this same way, God’s fire never intends to hurt us. Like the fire of coals in the coast, God’s fire intends to soothe and comfort us. Before His death, Jesus already gave us our assurance of comfort: the Holy Spirit (see John 14:16-18). While we are iced cold on our service, the Holy Spirit remains in us ready to comfort us and ignite a fire within us. We are never comfortless as promised by God. 3. Fire CONSUMES us. (Acts 2:1-4) We get back to our main text where the disciples first received the Holy Spirit. They were consumed and filled by the Holy Ghost, enabling them to be of service to the King. The disciples were ready to be consumed by the fire of the Holy Spirit. To once again be enabled, we should work on being ready to be consumed and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Great things were done by the disciples during the Pentecost. We can do the same once we let ourselves be consumed by God’s fire. Getting back on track on our Christian service will never be an overnight process. From this point on, we would need to harness and keep God’s fire burning. We will use the first letters of a very familiar word, TRUST, to help us utilize God’s fire to the fullest. How do we keep the fire burning? Thanksgiving (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main text: Lamentations 5:15-22 KJV [15] The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. [16] The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned! [17] For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim. [18] Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. [19] Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. [20] Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? [21] Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. [22] But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us. Key texts: Lamentations 5, Lamentations 1:8, 1 Corinthians 10:12, James 4:14, Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2 Peter 1:8, Matthew 22:37, Luke 18:1, Philippians 1:21-22, Lamentations 3:22, Hebrews 4:15, Jeremiah 15:19 ---------- The book of Lamentations which was believed to be written by Jeremiah was written in the form of a poem. It is the literary emblem of the cries of the Israelites during the time when the Lord was not talking to them. As per usual, the main reason for the cold shoulder by the Lord is the Israelites’ sins (Lamentations 1:8, 5:7) which they admit, albeit rather late. Because of these sins that have continuously been committed, the favor of the Lord left the Israelites. They were subjected to various types of hardships that the writer explicitly mentioned in this chapter: poverty (v2), lost resources (v4), slavery (v5), sickness with famine (v10) and loneliness (v15). But the writer expressed hope because he certainly knows the mercy and grace that the Lord has shown in the past. He asked the Lord for mercy by renewing the days of old (v21). In this message, we will examine the reasons why Christians may find themselves falling away from the Lord. And more importantly, we will learn that we always have a hope for restoration because the Lord is always willing to embrace us back to His fold. First, we look at the pattern of backsliding shown by the Israelites by answering an important question we might find ourselves in: Why do people fall away from the Lord? 1. OVERCONFIDENCE This might be one of the most common symptoms a Christian will experience before gradually slipping away from the Lord. Yes, there is a time in our Christian life when we are truly faithful and close to the Lord. But the danger of this situation is that we can develop overconfidence. 1 Corinthians 10:12 tells us to always take into account our standing with the Lord. One danger of overconfidence is it blinds us to the reality of life. We must always remember how fragile our life is as James 4:4 describes it. We are never in control of our lives and must always put our confidence in the Lord. Once we surrender control to the Lord, we have the right assurance that everything is according to God’s will. Another danger of overconfidence is it encourages us to take foolish risks. Past successes and blessings might push us to think that we are the reason for them. We get overconfident and now find ourselves taking risks that are not aligned anymore with the Lord’s will for our lives. Let us remember that there is a time and place for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1). It will be foolish for us to think that we made it ourselves. We must always recognize where all these successes and blessings came from. 2. COMPLACENCY Complacency is the dangerous partner of overconfidence. They come hand in hand as one is usually the result of another whichever comes first. Complacency is defined as a feeling of being satisfied and not willing to make it better. It is almost synonymous with staleness. Christians fall away from the Lord when we become complacent with our spiritual state. This stale state prevents us from growing, which should always be part of a Christian’s goal. We are warned how complacency leads to unfruitfulness. When we are in service to the Lord of lords, we cannot afford to be unfruitful (2 Peter 1:8). A grim result of barrenness can be found in John 15. We are expected to give our best in service to the King as commanded in Matthew 22:37. Our service to the Lord is proof of our love for Him. We do not serve Him for blessings or any other reason that leads us to complacency. One vital aspect that is greatly affected by complacency is a Christian’s prayer life. Remember that prayer has always been our life line. Luke 18:1 tells us that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Once we become complacent and stop praying, we expect to faint in this cruel world. Lastly, may we follow the mindset set by Paul in Philippians 1:21-22 to always live by Christ. Reading that whole chapter gives us a clearer view of what Paul means by abiding by the Lord Jesus Christ. At this point, we have tackled the reasons why we fall away from the Lord. But we have always known that from our valleys, the Lord is always eager to get us back up. Why is God willing to restore us? 1. Because His love is unconditional. Nothing we can do or say can separate us from the love of the Lord as promised in Romans 8:38-39. We do not deserve His love and mercy yet His love is unconditional. Like our salvation, we are extended undeserved mercy and grace by our ever loving Father. There are more than enough reasons for us to be consumed from our sins but the Lord’s mercy and compassion do not fail us (Lamentations 3:22). 2. He understands our weaknesses. The Lord did not stay on His throne for us to perish from our sins. The Lord Jesus Christ made the biggest sacrifice by carrying our sins to Calvary. He is 100% man and 100% God during His ministry. He experienced first-hand our weaknesses in the flesh. Hebrews 4:15 encapsulates the victory over sin by the Lord Jesus Christ. He was tempted as much as we were tempted. He triumphed over sin and He can definitely champion us over our sins and shortcomings. Do you find yourself slowly or rapidly drifting away from God? What should we do when we fall? Return to God. Everything that comes from our side of this God-man relationship will always be complicated; we are full of flaws. The same cannot be said for our God; He is Holy and perfect. Imagine everything that we discussed for the reasons we fall away from Him. Yet, the Lord does not care about any of that. He just wants us to return to Him with no buts or ifs. God always wants to mend our relationship with Him. He promises to let us stand with Him and be precious once again. All we need to do is get back up and return to His fold (Jeremiah 15:19). /written by: Kevin Sanchez /published by: Em Gacad Preached on October 10, 2019 - Evening Service
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: Revelations 19:7-10 KJV [7] Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. [8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. [9] And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. [10] And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. ---------- As common as weddings are, marriage and love between a man and a woman are something of a mystery, even according to biblical wisdom. Marriage originated in the heart of God. He gave Eve not because Adam was looking for a partner, but He saw the need of a partner to fulfill Adam's God-given mission to multiply the image of God and maintain the creative order of the Garden of Eden. Although, the resulting companionship and intimacy are great bonuses. Likewise, we see the culmination of God's plan within the vision of a future and heavenly wedding feast. The first thing that comes into every baby Christian's mind when they think of the book of Revelations are the revelation of the Beast, the Antichrist, the sufferings, and every apocalyptic scene. Though those things are true, the whole book is actually the complete revelation of Christ. In our main text, it portrays us a scenery wherein the violence and tyranny stops. Jesus was set up as the "second Adam", a different source of a "new species". In that case, He needs a Bride that is made of the same material, which is one of the reasons we are born again so that we can have a relationship with Him forever. We, as the Church, is the bride of Christ, and therefore must be prepared for the time when He comes back for us. Let us take the opportunity that we have now, being alive, to make it right. These are some of the qualities that Jesus Christ wants on His wife: 1. One that LOVES Him The Bible clearly dictates that he who loves God keeps His commandments. And Jesus Christ tells His disciples that the Law and the Prophets hang onto these two commandments: (1) "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." and (2) "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." It may look like a circular reasoning, but to test the genuineness of our love of God is whether you let the His commandments govern your relation to the people of God and to Him and whether these commandments are burdensome to you. 2. One that is ATTRACTIVE Almost everybody when asked what they love about their partners say that they have an attractive face or personality, or both. After all, who wouldn't want an attractive person? Likewise, the Lord Jesus Christ wanted His wife to be attractive. Not on the face value, but in the personality that he/she is giving off. In Ephesians 4:29-32 KJV, God wanted us to put our all our bitterness, our wrath, our anger, our malice, and all the things that corrupts our heart. Just as God has given us redemption and hope, therefore we must give also redemption and hope to those who have wronged us. We are to be attractive in the sight of God if we have a pure heart. 3. One that is LOYAL The Lord Jesus Christ loves them who are dependent on Him. Not only on times of need but by in every moment and step in his/her life, they showed their dependence on His grace and mercy. We ought to be faithful whatever circumstances we are in. We do believe that God is almighty and our ever-present in times of need. We need not to turn to our own strength nor others - the Lord Jesus Christ is enough for us. 4. One that HELPS Him in His business As mentioned earlier, one reason that God created Eve was for the purpose of helping Adam fulfill God's work. As the Bride of Christ, we ought to also help Jesus Christ fulfill His mission to seek and save the Lost. By pointing to Jesus Christ Himself, we are to present the hope that is in Him to reconcile the people to God. As His Bride, we must have the same heart as Him, the compassion for the Lost, one that is yearning for the souls of men. 5. One that is LIKE Him And lastly, speaking of having the same heart of the Lord Jesus Christ, we must learn to walk like Him. Let us pursue God's heart, like Christ did. He died and ressurected claiming the victory over sin. He showed us a life on earth that is pleasing to the Lord and without sin despite having the same flesh that we had. In Hebrews 4:15, Christ did sympathize with our weaknesses, but by simply abiding on God, He was tempted but did not sin. May we abide in Him like a vine and the branches that we may become like Him - in Mind, in Spirit and in the Heart. /written by: Jenzhel Sanchez /published by: Em Gacad Preached on March 26, 2023
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV [12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. ---------- Recall the times being told by our parents, guardians, teachers to being careful in everything that might pose danger. Some of these are common situations such as crossing the street, going somewhere, cooking food etc. We are advised to be cautious in order to avoid what we do not want to happen to us. This too is applicable in our Faith for the congregation was blessed to hear from the evening service recently. The sermon started with a reminder that we need to constantly evaluate ourselves and asking the question; “are you faithful now than before?” What are the things we need to be careful of? 1. BE CAREFUL NOT TO FALL Hebrews 3:12 KJV [12] Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. We must always be careful, especially if we are on the verge of sliding or our faith is falling. Pride is what makes a person close-minded to the point of not even doing a simple prayer. It also divides us in ways that even our ministry gets affected. To stand one’s ground is to truly be careful. Every day we must ask for the strength of the Lord for we cannot be complete ourselves without Him. Without Faith, it is impossible to please the Lord. 2. BE CAREFUL TO BE FAITHFUL UNTIL THE END 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV [5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? As Christians, until the end, we must prove our Faith as this must endure. We need to be careful especially if worldly things shake the foundation of our Faithfulness. In (2 Peter 2: 20 KJV), it is dangerous for a person to fall under temptation having known the Word but have not changed at all. When will we practice our Faith? When we have problems? When it benefits us? Why not when the situation of our life is still good, glorifying Him all our lives every single day. Even if our lives fall, our faith should not waver. God blesses the faith that stood still amidst the trials in life. 3. BE CAREFUL OF HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE Revelation 2:10 KJV [10] Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. As the verse said, being faithful unto death; we must make sure to walk circumspectly not as fools but wise. Some Christians have two face; one they show to their worldly friends and one to show to their Christian brethren. Is that kind of person really saved? To know the word but not living it is not saved. For A true saved person is changed and a new creature. We must live our lives the way Christ intended it for us, to be Fishers of Men and proclaim His name. 4. BE CAREFUL TO REMAIN HUMBLE James 4:6 KJV [6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. How dependent are we in prayer? How many have we asked for wisdom especially in our life decisions? If we simply forget to pray, then it is pride. God resists the proud but blesses the humble. A Christian is submissive, meek and lowly for what ever the Lord wills, it shall be done. Humbleness connects us also in giving and to be humble is to be dependent on the Lord. God does not want how much you gave but what your heart contains. 5. BE CAREFUL TO REMEMBER THE SPIRITUAL THINGS Colossians 3:16 KJV [16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Sermons serve as a reminder for us to keep our Faith in check. It is important to take notes just in case we need to recall a certain lesson. In everything that we do, we must glorify God in our every decisions so that we may live in accordance to His Will. Let us not forget to be thankful in prayer everyday and must always abide and seek His Will. Always be humble in servitude to God. /written by: Steve Caramoan /published by: Em Gacad Preached on May 19, 2021 - Midweek Service
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Verse: 2 Peter 3:18 KJV [18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. ---------- As a Christian, it is essential for us to prioritize our spiritual health. Our relationship with God is the foundation of our faith and impacts every aspect of our life. By prioritizing our spiritual health, we will be more equipped to navigate life's challenges and overcome obstacles with grace, hope, and resilience. We will experience a sense of peace, joy, and fulfillment that comes from knowing and walking with God. Remember, our spiritual health is a crucial component of our overall well-being, and it requires intentional effort and commitment to cultivate. Do you have these spiritual hobbies? Having these activities can assist us in cultivating a healthy spiritual life as Christians. To keep our spiritual health in check, we must observe the following: 1. GROW: There should be progress. Hebrews 6:1 KJV [1] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, As Christians, we should have progress as we walk with Christ. Having such knowledge will deepen our relationship with Him and these are the standard for progress of growing. The basis of our growth is our maturity. To acquire spiritual maturity, we should check our: • Diet - We start with a gentle and easy-to-digest "milk" diet in the beginning. However, as we mature in our faith, we must learn to consume "meat" - scriptures that may be harder to digest but provide a deeper understanding of reality. These teachings may include confronting our sin and acknowledging the evil in the world. • Desire - Each of us has various desires in life, whether it be wealth, healing, or forgiveness. However, you should always seek to include God in these desires. It is a valuable practice to involve Him, as spiritual maturity entails considering God in all aspects of our lives. Whenever we ask for something, we should consider whether it will benefit our relationship with God. It is essential to remember that these desires should also align with the glory of God. • Decision - It is vital to seek God's guidance when making decisions in life. Deciding alone may not always lead to a better outcome. When making decisions aligned with His will, we consider not only ourselves but also our families and loved ones. As we mature spiritually, seeking God's wisdom and guidance becomes crucial for making selfless decisions aligned with His purpose. 2. GLOW: When other people see you, do they see the Lord in your life? Matthew 5:16 KJV [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Living righteously in a sinful world is a continuous challenge. Temptations come every minute of the day, and they can quickly consume us. As you mature, it is essential to have a strong conviction and a willingness to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In these circumstances, we must choose decisions that glorify God's name. As Christian, we are always under the watchful eyes of others. Therefore, we must serve as a good example and demonstrate to others that we are children of God by overcoming worldly temptations and actions. 3. GO: Keep on and never stop serving and sharing the gospel. 1 Corinthians 9:16 KJV [16] For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! It is our obligation to tell the word of the Lord. • The great commission should be our joy • The best way to win souls is through our testimony As a beacon of light, we can effectively lead others to Christ. People tend to follow our examples, actions, and thoughts, so it is crucial to present ourselves decently, making it easy to share the word of salvation. Spiritual maturity involves sacrificing worldly attitudes, but the reward is greater. Winning souls for Christ is among the most fulfilling rewards, even the angels rejoice in it. Therefore, continue serving God and praising Him, as our actions can have a significant impact on others. Maturing spiritually is very important, time is not the basis of it but knowledge and wisdom. Continue seeking God's word and follow the lead of the Holy spirit. As you pray, ask for spiritual growth and incorporate these aspects into your prayers. Bear in mind that taking care of our spiritual well-being is essential because a healthy spirit consistently communicates with and draws nearer to God. /written by: Jemaimah Alquizar /published by: Em Gacad Preached on August 01, 2021
By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: 2 Chronicles 20:25 KJV [25] And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. ---------- Being a believer does not spare us from the troubles of life. When trials arise, our human nature can sometimes get the best of us. We may become weary or even fearful. However, the assurance of God’s sovereignty is a God-given blessing all of us should realize. Jehoshaphat, during his reign as king of Judah, was not spared from such a trial. A messenger came to tell him that the Moabites, Ammonites, and others were gathered together to go against Judah. Surely, after hearing the news, he might’ve shivered knowing that they cannot survive going against such a multitude. But the fear that he felt was but for a moment because he set himself to seek the Lord. He knew that what it takes for them to overcome this trial is a miracle. Thankfully, our God is not short of providing just that. Following Jehoshaphat’s example, what do we do when we need a miracle? First is getting in tune with God (verse 3). Jehoshaphat was quick to realize that He is the only One that can help them, that's why he led the people to seek God. The same goes for us believers. If we need the divine intervention of God, we should be found seeking God. This means that while we are dealing with what seems like an unsolvable problem, we must be getting right with God through living righteously and continually pursuing His will. Moreover, needing a miracle requires us to pray about the problem (v.5-6). Talking to God should be our first move whenever we find ourselves needing a miracle. Of course, He is the one that would take us through whatever might come in our way. We must all learn to properly talk to God personally because the right prayer builds faith, and that same faith will strengthen us to do God’s instruction. Once we’ve prayed and sought for God’s help, we should continue to focus on God and not on the problem. One of the evidence of faith is hope. This hope ought to give us comfort and confidence that God is our Mighty Helper. There should be a sense of “relaxation” or an assurance of faith through confidence (v. 17). Lastly, we thank God in advance. (v.21-23). It should be a practice for us believers that we express gratitude to God in the midst of trials because it reflects our belief in God’s sovereignty. Yes, there are a lot of times which seem impossible for us to solve or overcome. But God promised us that He will not take us to a place where His grace cannot reach us. Just like what Jehoshaphat did, when we allow God to solve our problems, it will always result in abundant blessings. Our dedication and trust to God will never be unrewarded. Not only that but God’s name will be praised through testimonies of God’s goodness in our lives. Regardless of obstacles that might come in our way in doing the will of God, know that He is in control and that He understands what we need even before we require it. God is a Wonderful Orchestrator that lets us experience these things for a reason. Mostly, it is for us to further strengthen our faith, and realize just how much He cares and loves us. /written by Raphael Pacheco /published by Em Gacad |
