By Pastor Godwyn Aguinaldo Main Text: Isaiah 64:8 KJV [8] But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Psalm 23:1 KJV [1] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want ---------- Our main text tells us that God’s desire is to mold us. We are the clay, and He is our potter, the one who directs our paths. However, being people, we tend to forget who should be in control. We usually manage our own lives, through our own will, ways and works. It is as if we are the ones who shape our tomorrow. We must remember that as God’s children, we should let God dictate our direction. He expects us to fully trust Him, regardless of the situation. Otherwise, He will not be able to mold us properly. Just like a hard clay, He will do something to soften our hearts, even if it is painful. ---------- Significance of life fully entrusted to God: 1. Absolute protection A shepherd always protects His sheep. He will make sure that His sheep are safe and well fed. God’s protection was seen when He gave us the assurance of salvation. We are protected from condemnation because we are in Christ Jesus, and we walk after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). Because of God’s love, we were freed from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). How many times has the Lord spared us from possible harm? We must remember that the Lord saved us numerous times. 2. Guidance of the Holy Spirit The moment we received Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit started to dwell in us. God sent the Holy Spirit to guide and convict us. It is His way of communicating with us. But there are times that the Holy Spirit is leading us away from danger. However, we still manage to force our own desires, leading us to bad situations. Remember that as God’s children, we should be led by His Spirit (Romans 8:14) and not our own will. A good sheep always listens to his Shepherd. 3. Changed by God The bible tells us that if we are in Christ, we are a new creature, our old ways passed away and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). If we truly accepted Christ, a transformation must manifest in us. There must be changes in the way we think, talk and in our actions. There must be maturity and growth. 4. Provided completely In Philippians 4:19, we are reminded that God will supply all our needs. However, not everyone can claim this verse. We are instructed first to be faithful and obedient to our Lord. The church of Philippi was able to claim God’s blessings because they made sure that they were useful to God’s work (Philippians 4:16-19). Like the church of Philippi, let us follow God’s commands and be used for His works. Let us remember that we are God’s workmanship and His desire for us is constant. He wants to take care of us and make sure that we live comfortably. Thus, like a sheep to a shepherd, clay to a potter, we obey Him and follow His hands. Trust Him and make sure that our relationship with Him is intact. “Hindi dapat naririnig sa atin ay reklamo at pagdududa, ngunit ‘Salamat, Panginoon!’” If God will lead you, would you follow? Even if you don’t know what lies tomorrow, would you still trust Him? /written by: Colleen de Ocampo /published by: Em Gacad
